Poor Man’s Proverbs #9: Why Me?

Sometimes I wonder why is this happening to me but then I think, why not me?

Note 2 Self: Our trial is a golden opportunity for us to show God what we are made of. God chose us for this test and we are his warriors for the cause. He has already given us everything we need to be victorious.

Did you know this is how we earn one of the available crowns upon judgment day? Say what? That’s right. The Crown of Life will be given to those who persevere under trials (James 1:12). Wow, we have an opportunity to be God’s champions!

All you warriors out there, handle your business and go out and earn your bling-bling! Our Lord is with us!

Have a blessed day, my friends.

Poor Man’s Proverbs #8: Greatness Is In Your DNA

GREATNESS is in your DNA.  Just remember who created you.

Note 2 Self: DNA is the carrier of genetic information, and our DNA is directly linked to God Almighty.  All too often we forget this astonishing fact.  In Genesis 2:7, we read the following: “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

Think about it.  When God created most things, He merely commanded them into existence. Not so with man. He had personal and intimate involvement. The fact that He breathed life into man shows the unique and loving bond that God has with us. We should feel special and honored.

There is a part of God in all of us.  We are great because He is GREAT. We are all his children, and He loves us. Do not be deceived by the devil.

Is there GREATNESS is your DNA? The answer is a resounding YES!

Blessings to you all, my friends.

Poor Man’s Proverbs #7: Laziness = BROKE

He who is a stranger to work becomes an associate of poverty and best friends with BROKE!

Note 2 self: Can we build a foundation of any kind on laziness? I don’t see how we can. The wages for idleness is a Big Fat Zero.  We should not make laziness a way of life as there is much to lose.

What is there to lose you ask? Well, for starters – do you like to eat? God answers this one in  2 Thessalonians 3:10.  It states the following: ‘” For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”‘  Proverbs 19:15 warns us of the following, “Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless go hungry.” So, we are expected to work – no free lunches.

God is calling for all hands on deck!

Blessings to you all, my friends.

Poor Man’s Proverbs #6 Listen Up – God’s Trying To Tell Us Something

God’s trying to tell us something; we need to take the cotton out of our ears. He knows where life’s landmines are. We don’t.

God's trying to tell us something

Note 2 self: Often God is telling us to do something, and we either blow Him off or pretend we didn’t hear Him.  For many of us, we have to be told several times before we finally listen. When that doesn’t work, He sends the confirmation through other people to get our attention.

One thing is for certain, if we don’t listen,  the road ahead will be steep.  God loves us and only wants the best for us.

– He knows if that person we love isn’t the one for us.
– God knows if accepting that new job in another state will be detrimental to our family.
– He knows if selecting that college you think is best for you is really the right one for you.

God has advanced intelligence. He has already seen the future and has a plan mapped out for each one of us.  Now, we could be cavalier in our efforts to listen to Him, but we do so at our own peril.

Do we want to listen or go down the road of hard knocks?
I chose to take out the cotton in my ears.  What about you?

Blessings to you all, my friends.

Poor Man’s Proverbs #5: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

We all have decisions to make. Which one(s) do we choose? Now that’s the $64,000 question.

decisions

Note 2 self: Remember, every decision has consequences – both good and bad. Weigh the pros and cons of each and their potential outcomes. If you can’t live with the decision or it doesn’t sit well with you, then it’s probably the wrong one.

Of course, the best course of action is prayer. It is the prerequisite for all good decisions. I mean really, when is the last time you prayed about a decision and God led you in the wrong direction?  Probably, the fifth of never – exactly!

Blessings to you all, my friends.

Poor Man’s Proverbs #4: Forgiveness Over Time

It has been said that time heals all wounds, but forgiveness is faster.

forgiveness

Note 2 self: Time may, in fact, heal all wounds but takes a long time.

We sometimes endure years of pain and suffering over situations and circumstances that we have chosen to keep in ours hearts.  The person(s) who have offended us have gone on with their lives and do not carry those burdens.

When we forgive people, we release ourselves from the prison of that pain and suffering. We are essentially giving ourselves a gift. The gift allows us to move on with our lives and to not harbor ill feelings toward those who hurt us.

Forgiveness is our get-out-of- jail free card.

I chose forgiveness over time. Care to join me?

Poor Man’s Proverbs #3: God’s Ulterior Motive

Poor Man’s Proverbs # 3: God’s Ulterior Motive

God's ulterior motive

God has an ulterior motive; it is His love for you.

Note 2 Self: He sent His only son on a suicide mission so that mankind could have an opportunity for salvation. This is proof positive of His love for us.

Love is indeed God’s ulterior motive for you and me.

Have a blessed day, my friends!

Poor Man’s Proverbs #1: The Blessing Assassin

Poor Man’s Proverbs #1: The Blessing Assassin

Ungratefulness is a blessing assassin.

Note 2 Self: Ever blessed someone with your time or resources or helped them in some other way…only to receive no acknowledgement or appreciation for your efforts? No gratitude was ever expressed,

Their actions wouldn’t inspire you to want to help them again.

Although God is much more patient and merciful than mankind, I must believe that at some point, He would stop the blessings if we don’t appreciate them.

blessing

Yes, ungratefulness is a blessing assassin.

Have a blessed day, my friends!
